New Appointments at the NJ Department of Education

Over the last two weeks the New Jersey State Board of Education has approved two people to serve under new Commissioner Angelica Allen-McMillan, who heads the NJ Department of Education.

  • Rebecca Lubot will be the new Chief Education Policy Officer. (I don’t know who she’s replacing; I can’t find the position on the DOE organization chart.) Previously she was a director at CN Communications providing leadership for the Research & Development Council of New Jersey and directed a public-private partnership called the Governor’s STEM Scholars, which “bolsters the education and career pipeline, and works to solve the State’s outmigration issues.”
  • Lisa Gleason will be the Assistant Commissioner, Division of Academics and Performance, replacing Linda Eno (who had a rocky tenure.) Previously Gleason was Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Wall Township Public Schools. She was also co-founder and past president of the Monmouth County Curriculum Consortium.
