Kansas broke its sports betting record for the second consecutive year in October, with punters betting $249.7m (£203.9m/€233.8m) while revenue also hit a new high.
The monthly amount exceeded the previous record of $219.3 million in September by 13.9%. In October 2022, it was also up 31.5% above $189.9 million in Kansas.
Of all bets placed in Kansas during the month, $240.9 million were made at online operators and $8.8 million were at sportsbooks.
Online and retail sales totaled $14.4 million, a new record for Kansas.
In total, around $13.1 million in revenue came from online betting and $1.2 million from retail.
Boot Hill Casino and DraftKings are leaders in online gaming in Kansas
Boot Hill Casino and DraftKings remain the clear online leaders in the Kansas market. The partnership generated $6.3 million in online revenue from $114.3 million in bets.
Kansas Star Casino and FanDuel followed with revenue of $4.8 million, up from $67.4 million. Kansas Crossing Casino and BetMGM round out the top three with revenue of $1.6 million and profit of $20.8 million.
In terms of retail, Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway at Barstool led the way with $951,869 in revenue from $6.3 million in bets.
Kansas Star and its sportsbook FanDuel came in second with $198,592 off $1.4 million. In third place were Boot Hill and DraftKings, which generated $39,045 in revenue on a deal worth $717,662.
Kansas collected $1.5 million in taxes during the month, including $1.3 million from online betting and $122,493 from retail sales.
