Punters in Mississippi wagered $62.4m (£49.4m/€57.0m) on sports betting in November, the highest amount in the Magnolia State in 11 months but still lower than the same month last year .
The monthly stake was 15.2% below the $73.6 million staked November 2022. However, it was 26.1% higher than $49.5 million in Mississippi in October of this year and the highest total since the $74.4 million bet in December 2022.
November sales in Mississippi were $3.1 million. This was 33.3% below last year’s total of $5.1 million and also 53.4% below October’s $7.3 million.
Mississippi November: Coastal casinos are the venue of choice
When broken down by market, coastal casinos remained the most popular for sports betting among Mississippi consumers. Coastal Casinos generated $1.4 million in revenue in November with a total of $43.1 million in bets.
Approximately $1.1 million in revenue came from centralized casinos, which processed a total of $12.0 million in bets.
Additionally, northern casinos reported $530,929 in revenue from $7.2 million in wagering.
Football once again proved to be the most popular sport to bet on. Players bet $23.2 million on football at coastal casinos, $3.0 million at central venues and $3.7 million at northern casinos.
