Data provider Stats Perform has signed an exclusive agreement to continue as the rights partner of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) until 2030.

Stats Perform remains the exclusive data rights partner of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) following the signing of an expanded agreement.

As part of the agreement, Stats Perform will continue to act as the WTA’s official data provider. The deal will see the provider provide an exclusive referee-derived data feed for games and an ultra-fast data feed collected by the provider’s Opta analysts.

Data collected by Opta analysts includes detailed match statistics, including turnovers and shot levels. According to Stats Perform, this will increase the level of live insights available for WTA matches. It will also help enable a new range of broadcast, second-screen and betting experiences.

Extended until 2030

Stats Perform signed an initial six-year contract in 2020 to become the WTA’s official data provider. This renewed renewal, announced on December 8th, runs until the end of the decade.

The deal will see Stats Perform continue to provide AI-enriched Opta data on WTA events to licensed sportsbooks. Fans can also watch Stats Perform’s existing live video streaming service to enhance their betting experience.

Commenting on the extension, Alex Rice, Chief Commercial Officer at Stats Perform, said: “We are honored and excited to expand our close relationship with the WTA, a highly progressive and professional sports organization.

“We are proud of what our respective teams have achieved together so far. We look forward to continuing to improve the experience for fans and bettors.”

Marina Storti, Managing Director of WTA Ventures, said: “We are pleased to extend our successful partnership with Stats Perform.

“The data and insights they provide are an important part of our plans to drive fan engagement through product innovation and enriching experiences.”

Stats Perform: An up and coming player in tennis betting

The provider’s extension is the latest in a series of deals in tennis. Stats Perform is the Australian Open’s exclusive data distributor. It also owns rights to other leading tennis tournaments such as Wimbledon and the ITF Davis Cup World Group.

Stats Perform received recognition earlier this year when it was awarded top marks for data quality and integrity by the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA). This was the third consecutive year the provider won the award.

However, the company missed out on a partnership with the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in March and instead signed a six-year men’s tour deal with rival Sportradar.
